Ami's Amazing Picnic

The Story

Ami's throwing an end of summer picnic at the park, and all the Buckos are invited. They had a simple agreement: Ami brings a big blanket for everyone to sit on, while the Buckos pick up giant hot dogs at Amiplanet's largest warehouse wholesale (you know the one).

After they meet up, however, Ami is concerned at the state of the food they've brought. She's sure that they're the wrong color, and take her word for it, but they smell a bit off. And are they dripping with pickle relish, or something else that's green? The Bucko's don't seem too worried about this. They've even started eating them. But every time they do, they turn a very unpleasant color themselves.

Did they really get these from the food court, or did they get them from the dumpster behind the food court? Unfortunately, Ami doesn't have time to wonder about this anymore. She's getting hungrier by the second, and she doesn't know what she'll do if she doesn't get something to eat. And sadly for the Bucko's, they're looking more appealing by the second...

The Rules

• Keep Ami Well Fed - Keep the hunger bar from emptying. If she goes too long without eating, it's Game Over.
• Eat the Buckos - They may not like it, but they're the only things that look appetizing at this picnic.
• Don't Eat the Hot Dogs - Ami doesn't have the same strange tastes as the Buckos, so avoid these at all costs.
• Don't Eat Buckos that Eat the Hot Dogs - Any Bucko that grabs one will become as noxious and foul as the dog itself before bolting straight for Ami ("We've got to stop her somehow!").

Tips

• The more you eat in a row, the more satisfied you become. Try to eat as many Buckos in a row as possible.
• Buckos normally avoid you as you approach, but always go for the nearest hot dog. Maybe you can use this to your advantage.
• Any Bucko witnessing your eating process might just spontaneously disappear from sheer amazement. This could save you from a toxic takedown.
• Go for the high score and try to beat 30k, just like the real Amiya Aranha!

A (short) game made in Godot by Texas Tea for Buckojam 2026. All graphics and sound are also by Texas Tea (except the default Godot font used in the project. Maybe I'll branch out in 2027).
